Hilary Leichter

Hilary Leichter - Picador Guest Professor in the summer semester of 2022

Hilary is the author of the novel Temporary, which was shortlisted for The Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, longlisted for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and was a finalist for the NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award. Her writing has appeared in n+1, The New Yorker, Harper’s, The New York Times, Conjunctions, and has received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Yaddo, and the Folger Shakespeare Library. Her next two novels are forthcoming from Ecco. Hilary teaches at Columbia University and lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Hilary Leichter is the current Picador Guest Professor for Literature at the University of Leipzig. She is the author of the novel »Temporary«, which was shortlisted for The Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, longlisted for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and was a finalist for the NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award. »Temporary« casts a hilarious and tender eye toward the struggle for happiness under late capitalism. The German translation »Die Hauptsache« was published by Arche Verlag in 2021. Her next novel »Terrace Story« will be forthcoming Summer 2023 from Ecco.

Teresa Bücker works as a freelance journalist, moderator and consultant. At conferences, in magazines, on television and in workshops, she regularly discusses the changing world of work (new work, organizational culture, leadership, diversity & inclusion), justice, power, sexual empowerment and digital strategies for journalism. On October 19, 2022, her first nonfiction book »Alle_Zeit. Eine Frage von Macht und Freiheit« will be published by Ullstein Verlag.

Svenja Gräfen is a novelist and non-fiction writer based in Leipzig. In 2017, their debut novel »Das Rauschen in unseren Köpfen« was published by Ullstein fünf. The second novel »Freiraum« followed 2019. Most recently their first non-fiction book »Radikale Selbstfürsorge. Jetzt!« was published by Eden Books.
